Welcome to my blog. I’m glad you stopped by.
I’ll start with me.
My name is Emilie. I am a little blondie. I am 26-years-old. I just returned to the states from Fiji, where I had the adventure of a lifetime teaching three fun and crazy kids. I like people, children’s books, treehouses and good jokes.
In my short life, I have gotten to experience so much of the world. I spent a summer in Bolivia, a semester in Israel, a year in the Czech Republic, and two weeks in Uganda. The people were the best part and they are the main event of my blog.
The title “On the Shoulders of Giants” was the suggestion of my brother Colin. It comes from a letter from Isaac Newton to his peer, Robert Hooke, where he said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” This is true for me and I hope that you dear reader will find something that you can connect with here, something that will cause you not only to be moved, but to be changed, to see further. And I’m always trying to get you to laugh.
Tell me a little bit about you!
